No point naming a team. Moyes will name the same 11 and moan about fixture congestion if we lose.

this was something that helped fvck things up last season and looks like history repeating itself. Moyes cannot, sorry will not learn

Yeah I’m going with a 2-1 win.

Do we rest players against City if we win against Palace?

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I’d rest key players v City if we beat Palace. We’d be almost safe, need them fresh for Europe and it’ll piss off Arsenal, win win all round

Checks league table to see if the opposition are in the bottom half of the league...yep, thumbs up, we have a chance of winning then.

Of course the starting XI will be unchanged.

A win would effectively make us safe.

When Moyes sees the replay of Liverpool's second goal Benrahma will be lucky to get a place on the bench. And Cornet was pretty useless again. Fornals IN.

You think that was Benny and not Antonio?
Bennys about 5ft for a start,
And antonio is actually standing in front of Matip looking at him and just lets him run past him. That’s Antonio’s problem for me.

Stinks of a 1-1 draw this one, probably leaves us needing a point from our last five or so games. Even Moyes could manage that.

Antonio's job was to pick up Van Dijk

You are joking right?

Benhrama stands with him facing the direction of the ball gets a push and then literally goes in the opposite direction as if he plans to score for them from the edge of the box look at where he is and what he is doing when the ball goes in. On the edge of the box, spectating.

He should have tracked him to try and put him off even a little or if he had not intention to track due to the physical mismatch call it out.

Moncur

I had a look again from a different angle. I think last night the camera replay was head on and I just saw Antonio look at Matip run right past him.

Now I see that Benny did fuck all as a man marker there. But I still think Antonio is marking the zone and doesn’t even bother to sweep up here. My thought is was he just tired or was he unsighted or something.

I also don’t understand why Antonio doesn’t swap with Benny here given the size difference. Why can’t coaches work out the basics before the game starts. It’s not like they don’t know who’s in each squad. A 5ft nothing guy is not going to trouble a 6ft 5 guy on a corner. Why bother even trying? (Actually that’s what Benny ended up going, not trying!)

I’ve noticed Cresswell having a moan at Benny recently a few times about his tracking back and defending. Surprised Salah didn’t get more out of us down that side last night

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Benrahma should NEVER be left to mark a centre back from a set piece. The fault is with whoever thought it was in any way a good idea to allow that to happen.

Even if Benny jumped with him, Matip would absolutely rag doll him and score anyway. That's an organisation problem and not a Benrahma problem. Absolute basics that you ensure no one is trying to defensively mark someone almost a foot taller and likely 5 stone heavier than them from a set piece.

He was culpable for some things last night, but that's not on him.
